I.D.E.A. – INTERNATIONAL VITAMIN D EXPERT ASSOCIATION is a non-profit organization which has, among its aims, promotion, execution and coordination of vitamin D studies. These aims encompass clinical research of osteometabolic and extraskeletal mechanisms of vitamin D throughout life and support of scientific and cultural exchanges between Italian and international researchers in the field of vitamin D.

The Association can organize conferences, courses, congresses, seminars, study days and meetings on all osteometabolic aspects and extraskeletal effects of vitamin D for the training of specialist doctors operating in the metabolic bone field or for general practitioners, including the successful Annual International Consensus Conferences on laboratory, clinical and therapeutic aspects of vitamin D.

Moreover it can also support the publication of works of experimental and clinical nature related to Vitamin D and the determination and updating of national and international standards through the drafting of guidelines and recommendations.
